Karimu Rooms/Leisure
The Karimu invites you to rest, discover, talk, activities, work and linger. Our forecourt terrace with plenty of seating, the courtyards or rooms and areas within the conference centre meet this invitation. In the following, we will introduce you to a few possibilities.
Chapel
A place of retreat that invites us to meet up with God.
Window stripes slanting upwards culminate in a pyramid of glass that bursts through the roof, offering an unhampered view into the higher realms. This unique architecture reminds us that man was „created in the image of and towards God“ and is, ultimately, unable to live without looking up towards Him.
This room is equipped with underfloor heating.
Self-Service Café
Take some time out to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in the homey and relaxed atmosphere of our Cafeteria. Situated close to the Reception area, the Cafeteria is barrier-free and easily accessible, offering you space to relax on your own or in pleasant company.
A big glass front lightens up the room, and an adjacent terrace invites you to enjoy some coffee out in the sun.
Lobby
The lobby has two sofas to sit on and an interesting listening station for languages. If you go around two corners, you can always buy an ice cream in a freezer there.
In the lobby is the lift that leads to the different floors.
Library
Our academic library collection contains more than 4,600 books, 100 journals and 1,500 reprints. Subjects covered include Linguistics, Literacy, Second Language Acquisition, Ethnology, Intercultural Communication, Teamwork, Missiology, Theology, Religions, Biblical Exegesis and Translation. We also have Bibles and Bible portions in various languages.
Library materials may be borrowed for free of charge. The library is open round the clock and operates on a self-service basis. Lounge
Table tennis/Billiard
For teens and adults there is a special games room in the basement, featuring billiards and table tennis, amongst other gaming equipment.
Children's Playroom
The children’s playroom in the basement offers numerous opportunities for children to play.
It has vinyl flooring in wood design and is allergy-friendly. Just the place for children to move around and play undisturbed.
Food and drinks may be prepared using an inbuilt kitchenette.
Large glass doors give a bright and friendly atmosphere to the room and extend it for outdoor activities.
Beachvolleyball Outdoor
We have a beautifully situated beach volleyball court on our grounds that can be used at any time.
